“Raised by wolves in the darkest jungles of the Rust Belt, Eric had to at a young age learn to fend for himself in the dog-eat-dog world of sheet metal stamping.” (Fictional excerpt from the non-existent biography of Eric Kam-stamping guru)
Getting my start at a training company with the dubious task of trying to make what the Phd.’s in the stamping industry knew be something that the DieMaker on the floor could and would use to improve sheet metal stamping operation; I found that I had two skills that fueled some minor success in that arena: 1) I was nosy and 2) I tend to store vast quantities of seemingly useless information for later regurgiation on command. Sheet metal stamping and formability, being very esoteric trades (of which there are so few practitioners in north america), fell into the category of seemingly useless information and I took to it right away–displacing many years of useful learning about mathematics, science, literature and “real life” in the process.
So here I pretend to have thoughtful and meaningful ideas regarding sheet metal stamping to the wopping 8 or so people who might accidentally find my blog. At least the blogorazzi won’t be hounding me…
Eric, I found your site via Tim Stephens new “Die Guy” blog. You’ve got a very solid site man! Do you want to put our sites on each others blog? Mine is, http://www.toolanddieing.com
Thanks,
Joe Brown
thanks Joe. I added your link to my blogroll.
So now you will share in the abundance of my 5 (or so) hits per month. At normal link-thru rates I think you will owe me 25 cents (soon).
Joe – be forewarned! Eric wears a shirt that says “more people have read this shirt than my blog”
